Hello my friends, stampers and crafters, I hope that your weekend has kicked off with a bang. Today I am going to share with you a wonderful new product and stamp set from the new Occasions Catalog. This is one that’s on my list to get in my next order. There’s so many wonderful things in the Spring/Summer (Occasions) catalog I had to break my orders down into a couple different orders to get all the wonderful things that I want. These matching products was one that I fell in love with at OnStage back in November.
I love a great treat box, even that I don’t share them a lot. I love making them even though I don’t share them very often. I love that I can create not only my card but the box that my treats is going in also. And this box is so nice and unique. The shape is fabulous.
You can create die-cut gift boxes and party favors in seconds with the Window Box Thinlits dies and the Big Shot. The delicate design provides a peek of what’s inside. You can leave it solid or use one of the decorative dies and cut one of the wonderful patterns in the top and the sides. The box above shows one of the designs that can be cut out of the top of the box. Add strips of cardstock beside the open areas to add some color, you could also add some of the foil paper behind it for a more elegant look.
Thinlits Dies help you create detailed die-cuts with just a few turns of the Big Shot handle. The detailed dies include ejection holes so you can remove the paper easily. This set of Thinlits features 9 dies, with the largest image measuring 6″ x 5 9/16″. To get a great cut it’s suggested that you use the Precision Base Plate with the detailed images.
Video from Stampin’ Up!
Here’s a little video from Stampin’ Up! that will show you how to create the boxes, plus give you some more details about these wonderful products.
Pay very close attention to how to put the box together: If you don’t the box will not stay closed and you will have to glue it shut. One of my friends that has the set had this happen to her. So make sure that you follow the instructions to the letter. Here are a few other examples of this wonderful little box.
You can also use the dies for other things than the boxes, you can use the dies to cut the designs in your card front so that you create a peek-a-boo effect. This is a great way to make use out of your dies by using them in a different way. When you make an investment into tools having more than one use or way to use them makes them more valuable as well as a better investment.
These great thinlits actually can be purchased in a cost saving bundle with the Window Shopping Stamp Set, also in the Occasions Catalog. Stampin’ Up! offers a few items that they bundle together during each catalog, were you can save 10% when you purchase them using the bundle item number. Let’s have a look at the stamp set.
This set can be used for more than just the boxes as well as the thinlits. I can see them used on some great cards. You have so many sentiments that can be used for many occasions. That’s one of the things that I look for when I am looking for sentiment sets. I want ones that I can use for multiple occasions and not just for a few cards. When I can use them for more then one type of card its a big plus.
