Hello Friends I hope that you are having a great day. Today I am sharing my card for the Paper Craft Crew’s Weekly Challenge. This week we are doing a themed challenge; and our challenge this week is #imbringingbrithdaysback. Here’s the challenge card for this weeks’ challenge.
This was a very timely challenge for me this week, I had just announced that I would be focusing on Birthday’s and announced the launch of my Birthday Bash Club. So I was super excited to create something for this challenge. So the question than became what to use. There are so many great stamp sets in both the new Occasions catalog and the Annual Catalog. So I finally decided to use the Tasty Trucks stamp set that can be picked as one of your Sale-A-Bration Item. Here’s a look at my card for this weeks challenge.
Tips & Tricks:
When you watercolor any image, no matter what media you use. Be it the new watercolor pencils(which have been one of my favorites that I have used), or regular watercolors. You must let the archival ink dry completely. If you do not you will smear or have some lift off.
Another trick is that if you want a lighter color you have to press lighter, for more color just press a little harder and add more pigment. This will create a darker tone. For example lets look at the truck image shall we.
If you look at the transition of the two colors in the sky you will see that it gets lighter this was achieved by just adding a little more pigment. The same thing on the truck. Where the shadows are I made it a little darker and where the lights hitting it I used less.
The colors I used for this card are all in the bright collection besides the Basic Gray ink that I stamped the images with. I picked these colors because it was a birthday card, and all the food trucks that I have seen in Alabama are bright and colorful. So I wanted to use something bright and colorful. It is a proven fact that bright cheerful colors make people smile and smiling makes people happy. Here’s a look at the color cards all together.
See how these colors just make you smile. They are so cheerful, you cann’t help it can you.
