In today’s society how often do we truly send love letters? Well, with this bundle from the new Occasions Catalog I think that we could send a lot more. I already foresee some great valentines with this suite of products. As I was working with this suite today it made me think of one of my favorite plays; A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters. Love Letters is the story of childhood friends who corresponds by summer camp post cards to college letters all the way to through their adult lives. If you ever get a chance I highly recommend seeing it. Sending a handmade card to someone that you love is a very big thing and there’s no time like the present. I am going to share with you today the card I made with the Sending Love Suite. Here’s a look at today’s card.
It’s Not the Size that Counts:
With this set it’s not the size of the note that counts but what’s inside the small little envelopes that maybe what counts. I created these small little envelopes using the Love Notes Framelits Dies. There are two different types of framelits that create small little envelopes, and two different types of inserts. Let’s look at the envelopes that I created using the Sending Love Glassine Sheets (which feature printed delicate white hearts). These sheets are great for creating bags and envelopes.
The first picture shows the envelope holding the little love note. Most people wouldn’t realize that you can pull the little note out to find a sweet little love note. I stamped the little note with love you lots, this gives a little extra special touch to the card. Sometimes it’s not the size something comes but what’s the meaning behind it.
Color Combo & Paper Stack:
The colors that I used for this card are very classic colors for Valentine’s Day. I went with the Real Red, Whisper White that was in the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and add a little Crumb Cake to the inside of the card to add a neutral.
You can never go wrong with a classic color combination. You could even pair the colors in this paper stack with basic black and add a very elegant touch to your cards.
This paper stack not only gives you a classic color combination of Red and White, but it features some very traditional patterns along with some very subtle patterns that could be used for things other than just Valentine’s Day Cards. You could use the polka dots, strips, and some of the other patterns for many other types of cards for other occasions. It’s great because it’s not just the Real Red or the Whisper White sides that have the subtle or the Valentine patterns on them, each color offers both. This makes this paper stack more versatile and that means for you that you can get a lot of different variety from this stack.
Look on the Inside:
Let’s have a look at the inside, at first glass you may thing that I added a die cut in the whisper white insert, but actually it’s a die cut heart in real red that has been heat embossed with Whisper White Stampin’ emboss powder. Here’s another look at the outside of the card and the main products that I used to create it.
