Hello Stampers and Crafters I am so excited that you are joining us for the December Blogging Friends Blog Hop!  The next few months are going to be very exciting for the Blogging Friends Blog Hops, not just because the New Occasions & Sale-A-Bration Catalogs will be out.  But, we will be having a guest blogger each month for the next few months.  I am super excited today to be  introducing this month’s very special guest blogger.  I get the great pleasure of introducing the King of Clean and Simple cards.

I have two people that I credit with my joining Stampin’ Up! due to watching their videos and following their blogs before I joined.  Seeing how they both created very different cards showed me that I could do it.   Okay, okay I know that you are dying to know whom I am talking about.  I am very excited to announce that this month’s guest blogger is the fabulously funny and talented Brian King.

I got the pleasure of meeting Brian at the Retreat that I helped organize last year with Phyllis Shepherd, Thelma Collins, Charity Wright, and Jane Stull.   I had been watching his videos and following his blog for the past couple years while I was thinking about joining.   I was very excited when I learned that Brian was coming, there’s nothing like meeting someone that you have followed, and admired.   He is the most kind, funny, and entertaining person I have ever met.  I was very ecstatic when he agreed to take part in this months blog hop with us all.

Here is the card that I created for today’s blog hop.

Stamp Sets Used:

My card features the Letters For You & Holly Jolly Greetings stamp sets.   Both of these stamp sets are great to create both Christmas Cards as well as other types of cards.   The Letters For You Stamp Set is such a great stamp set that you create so many different projects with this stamp set.   This alphabet stamp set is exactly what you need to make personalized décor and cards. This set will make any project look classy and customized.  There are 37 stamps in the set and each letter is about 2″ x 1.5″.  Since it is just letters you can use it to create any word you would like, Monograms, and more.  Pair that with the framelits that match and you have doubled your creative power.

If you are interested in the Letters for you stamp set I would suggest getting the Letters for You Bundle which would save you 10% off the stamp set and the Large Letters Framelits dies, if you are interested in this set you can pick them up in my online store here.

Tips & Tricks:

To line up the letter stamps where they are you can do two different things.  You could take a ruler and very lightly draw a line with a pencil and stamp just slightly above the line.  Once the ink is dry you can then erase the pencil line.   Or you can do what I did and line the bottom of the stamp up just above the bottom of the paper and then line the bottom of each stamp up with the bottom right hand corner of the letter.  This way everything will stay lined up as long as you have the bottom of the pervious letter lined up correctly.

Center the Presents and Pinecones Designer Series paper(cut at 3″x 5 1/2″) about 1/2″ from the top fo the side folding A2 size card (Cherry Cobbler card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2).  I took the Whisper White (2 1/4 x 5) stamped image in the center of the Designer Series paper.   To stamp the & Bright from Holly Jolly Greetings I actually stamped it in Emerald Envy Classic Stampin’ Ink on a 1/4 x 2 scrap of Whisper White and took large scissors and trimmed it to size with one cut.   Then I took my paper snips and created a flag banners on both ends.   This was popped up using the edge of a sheet of sheet of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the front of the card I added some of the cherry cobbler stars and small dots from the regals enamel shapes.

To completely finish the card completely cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to 5 1/4 x 4 and stamped the inside sentiment from Suite Seasons Stamp set with my Cherry Cobbler and Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Markers.  Using the markers I was able to create a two tone stamped image.

I also cut a 1/4″ strip of the matching Designer Series Paper and place it at the bottom part of the inside.  Here’s another look at the front of my Merry and Bright Card.
