blogging friends blog hop logo

Hello Stampers and Crafters I am glad that you have joined use today for the November Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This month we are all focusing on one of the oldest stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!®.  Any ideas which one that maybe?   If you guessed Lovely As A Tree you would be very correct.   We are all super excited to be doing this month’s theme and I am even more excited to see what everyone has came up with.

My card is also the inspiration for one of my swaps that I will be using for one of the organized swaps at Atalanta OnStage this weekend.   So I will share with you now the inspiration for my swap.  This is not the actual swaps but the inspiration for it that I created.   Here’s my card.

Tricks and Tips:

For my card I used the inked embossed technique to create this card.  Well that’s what I call it anyway.  You take the embossing folder and lightly brush, swipe, or brayer the ink onto the the side of the embossing folder that has the logos on it.  Next you take a slightly darker ink and ink up the stamp and stamp it on the embossing folder.   This creates the image in the background of the embossed image once paper is added and ran through the big shot.

Make sure that once you have inked the embossing folder and stamped the image on it and placed the paper on the inside of it; you don’t move the paper because that will make the stamped image smudge.

Add a Little Metal & Shine:

After you get your image done you have to cut it down to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Next run it through the big shot again with your word die of choice.  Remove the die and cut a piece of foil or glimmer paper to 1 x 5 1/2 and layer behind.  You will add this behind the stamped embossed die cut image.   After that is all done add two 1/4 x 5 1/2 strips of designer series paper to the top and bottom of the focal image.   This is a great way to use up scraps.   This is a simple card but has a lot of impact with the focal image.

That is really all it is to this technique of stamping I hope that you have a great time hoping along looking at everyone else’s projects this month I know that I will.  Just a little reminder that you can sign up for my newsletter and receive updates and special offers from me.  If you need any of the projects you’ve seen today you can pick them up in one place right here or clicking on the 24/7 shopping tab above and on my website or by clicking on any of the products below the blogger list.  Again thanks for dropping by.
