Hello Stampers and Crafters today I am taking part in the Paper Players weekly sketch challenge.  This week they have a fun and inspirational sketch for everyone to play along with this week.  I love a good sketch challenge not just because they are fun and they are a challenge (and I love a good challenge).  They also makes you think and help your design skills.  If you don’t consider yourself a designer or you have problems coming up with ideas for cards and projects challenges are a way to go.   How do they help your design skills you may ask.  Well they make you think your way through problems that each sketch provide. Like what do I put here and what about this shape, what colors works well with this.  I highly encourage you to give them a try and the Paper Players always offer a great one to take part in.  Here’s the sketch that inspired my card today.

So this sketch proved to be just as much fun and exciting to figure out.   Here’s my card and my interpretation of this weeks sketch.

Continuing with my Fall themed cards this one is not exception.  I actually used a couple different stamp sets to create this card.  And for the life of me I can not remember what stamp set I used for the sentiment.   I know that it was from Stampin’ Up!® but I can not find it or figure out which set it was in.   But, besides that I used Jar of Haunts (from the Holiday Catalog) and First Sight (from the Annual Catalog).

Color Combo

My cardbase for today’s card is Delightful Dijon. I paired the cardbase with an old olive mat which I had stamped the flourish in matching Old Olive Classic Ink.  I used Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp the pumpkin and two strips of pumpkin pie cardstock attached to the whisper white card stock that I have also stamped the flourishes.  I just love this color combos because it just has a wonderful Autumn.  From the rich golden tone in the Delightful Dijon to the warm Old Olive and not to even mention the gorgeous pumpkin color.  I love Pumpkin Pie well most shades of orange.  I have always loved orange it’s my favorite color, always has been.

I love to combine the old with new.   In this case I mean the stamp sets.  First Sight which came out last year in the 2016 Occasions catalog.  And this years Jar of Haunts stamp set from this years Holiday Catalog.  They actually play very nice together.  The flourish works wonderfully for vines for the pumpkin.  Speaking of which after stamping it once I stamped it again and cut it out and popped it up on a stampin’ dimensional.

This finishes may card for today.  I hope that you take the time and play along with the Paper Players this week in there design challenge.  You can check out all the cards that have been done for their challenge this week by clicking on the challenge image above.  Thanks for dropping by today.
