Welcome to this months Blogging Friends blog hop. This months theme is Fall Occasions. So my cards for this month combines a few of the new products from the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. Before we get into what I used here’s my card for this month.
I choose to go with a couple different stamps sets to showcase on my card this month. I used Basket of Wishes to stamp the harvest themed basket across the pair pizzazz card base. Just on the top two thirds of the card. Next I created a torn edge to the card base to add some texture and Demission to the card.
I wanted to add a little more Demission to the card so I used the new Cable Knit Dynamic Texture Impression Embossing Folder on some Very Vanilla cardstock. This was just cut shy of 1/2 of the card base size. This new embossing folder is the first one of its kind for us at Stampin’ Up!; it creates a deeper impression than or normal embossing folders. It creates more of a 3-demisional effect. It also has to be handled a little different than our normal folders. You have to slightly spritz it with water and run it through the big shot using the following sandwich. Multipurpose Platform (on tab 1), embossing folder, top cutting plate. This is because this folder is very thick and you don’t need the bottom plate.
To add the sentiment to the front of the card I used the new Wrapped in Warmth stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso classic ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I used the layering circles framelets to cut it and the scalloped circle out. The scalloped circle was cut out of some real red cardstock.
To completely finish off the card and to hid my melded together part of the card front I added the same size strip on the inside back cover. This allowed me to cover the seam so that the card looked seamless. I next stamped the sentiment on the inside using sentiments from the basket of wishes stamp set. Inked in real read and early espresso.
I know that this color combination is a little strange for fall but it really works because it blends the transition of spring into the start of fall. My color combinations are as followed.
