Hey Stampers and Crafters I am back this morning to share my card with you for the Paper Craft Crews weekly sketch challenge this week. This week we have a fun sketch for you.
Here’s the sketch for this weeks challenge. And here’s my card. Oh my lord this was a fun one.
I created this card using a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of Early Espresso cardstock scored at 4 1/4. A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 2 1/2 x 5 1/2. Some Moroccan DSP cut at 1/4 x 5 1/2 some scraps of Pumpkin Pie glimmer paper, copper foil, Very Vanilla, and Cajun Craze cardstocks. And that’s it.
I love when I can use scraps to help create my cards. It saves time money and headaches. And we are all about that am I right.
I created the focal point of the card by using some soft suede classic ink and the woodland texture impression embossing folder. How do you say well here’s the trick.
Tips & Tricks:
You have to ink your embossing folder. That’s right ink it. And, here’s how. You have to make sure you have the right side. The side with the logos on it is the side you ink. Open it up and rub your ink pad over it. I know it’s scary just do it. You can clean it with a baby wipe and a paper towel when your done. Then your going to sandwich it in between the folder and use your normal sandwich. Run it through your big shot and bam you have an inked up embossed image.
Next stamp your acorns on some scraps of very vanilla cardstock and in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede classic inks and stamp them. Punch out with the acorn builder punch. Take your scraps of the pumpkin pie glimmer paper and copper foil and punch them out attach together with mini glue dots. Take your other piece of very vanilla and Stamp your greeting in Cajun craze classic ink. Your stamping is complete. Put away your ink.
Let’s build the card:
- Attach your embossed image using fast fuse or multipurpose liquid glue. You need this because an embossed image is a little harder to stick.
- Place your two strips of DSP on a silicon mat and line them up and add snail adhesive. Place on card.
- Attach your two acorns to the top left. Add a bow tied with linen thread with a mini glue dot you’ve made smaller with your hands.
- Layer your greeting on your Cajun craze scrap and crest your flagged ends and attach with snail. Pop the new flag to your card with Stampin’ dimensionals.
And your card is complete. Thanks for playing with us today.
