Hello Stampers and Crafters, I hope that you had a wonderful weekend. I know that most in the States had a long week end, with Labor Day yesterday. I hope you’re all rested and had a great time. Hopefully along the way you had a little time to create something. Today I am sharing a card that I created using the Foxy Friends Stamp set for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge. Here’s my card and below is the theme for this week’s challenge for the Paper Players hosted by Ms. Jaydee.
I created this card back in July and have been holding it for just the right reason, and this weeks challenge seemed to fit the bill. So I am finally getting to share this little beauty with all my friends here on the interweb.
I used the Foxy Friends stamp set on page 57 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog to create my focal point for this card. I just love this stamp set and can not say enough good things about it. It is so much fun to play with and create other animals. I will tell you this that you have to be careful when you ink up the eyes and nose stamp if you press the slightest bit to hard you will get unwanted ink marks between the nose and eyes that will get on your little critter that you’ve worked so hard on. So tap lightly.
After stamping my little foxy friend here a couple of times because of the above stated comment. I should have mentioned this above that I only knew this by my own mistakes. I know no surprise for any of you that follow me. I used the new layering circle framelits to cut him out and a nice scallop circle to frame my little darling. I next took a layer of smoky slate and ran it through the big shot with the wood grain embossing folder, and sponged around the edges with matching Smoky Slate classic ink. All of which was mounted on a Pool Party Card base.
Are you wondering where these color combo came from well I will tell you. I picked the same colors that’s in the matching Designer Series Paper Stack called a little foxy. I only did this because I wasn’t quite sure when I started this card if I would use a bit of that paper or not. So to play it safe I picked the colors that’s in it. Originally I had some of the paper cut into banners to put on this card but it didn’t work so that’s when the circles came into play. It was a much better fit for the design of this clean and simple card compared to the banners.
To finish off the card I used a simple Calypso Coral banner that (which was a scrap from the scrap bin) measures 1/4 x 4. I then used the sentiment from Balloon Celebration stamp set which I stamped in Basic Black archival ink to tie in the black on the nose and eyes.
So that’s my card for today. I hope that you liked it and that you will play along with the Paper Players during this week’s theme challenge I know i have fun each time I get to play along.
