Thanks for joining using this month for another Blogging Friends Blog Hop!  This month is a very special blog hop for two reasons.  First reason this is a special hop this month, the new Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalog has released today!   Yay! I know you all have waited so long for this day.  And I am telling you this year’s Holiday catalog is fantastic!   I love everything that’s in it.  Secondly this is the Blogging Friends Blog Hop Anniversary.    So our next reason this is a special blog hop is we have a guess hopper with us today.  She is very special to all of us, and without her non of us would be were we are today.  If you haven’t guessed it or seen it already Shelli Gardner is with us this month.  We are super excited to have Shelli (Mrs. Gardner since I am a good Southern boy) hopping along with us this month.

This month’s theme was “blogiversary!” So are you wondering what may card looks like or are you still with us after that announcement?  Okay just checking I know we all want to see what she has created too.  Here’s my card for this month’s

Combine Old & New

I combined two stamp sets from the Annual catalog with a new stamp set from the newly released Holiday Catalog.   The stamp set from the Holiday catalog is the new Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set.  Isn’t it just the cutest things, I can see it being used for so many different Halloween Projects.   I love the scarecrow, the vampire, the mummy and the skeleton,(not pictured).   I paired it with the Hardwood background stamp set stamped in early espresso on Crumb cake cardstock (which you all know I love it)   I then used the Detailed Floral Thinlits to create the ground and bush behind the my cute little Halloween people.(Thanks Brian King for this idea.)   The edgelet in the die set cuts a perfect ground.   I cut the ground out of a piece of Old Olive Scrap form my scrap drawer.  Along with stamping my characters on whisper white scraps and punching them out using the ginger bread builder punch (new in the holiday catalog).  Side note if you haven’t heard there is a bundle that matches this punch.  It’s a Christmas stamp set, this set just coordinates with the punch.  Win win!! I know right!

Notice my grass it was created with flicking my Old Olive and Garden Green Stampin’ Write markers in an upward motion.

I stamped my sentiment from the Confetti Celebration stamp set.  Then I cut it out using the layering oval framelits.  I masked out the Let’s with some plain ol’ scotch tape, to ink the celebrate up in Early Espresso.  After pulling the tape off I used Pumpkin pie Stampin’ Write marker to color the let’s.  After giving it a good huff or two I stamped it on my whisper white piece.  Next I cut out the matching scalloped oval in Crumb Cake (one of my favorites colors ever.) I colored my images with some alcohol markers.   I then layered everything up and started putting it together.   I popped up my scarecrow with a couple stampin’ dimensionals, and my card was done.   I mean how simple is that.
