Do you dare to step through the gate on Halloween night?  Well enter if you dare!   MOHHHHAAAAA!   Okay really all fun aside.  I posted the stepped down version of this card last week.  So this week I wanted to show you the second version I came up with before the one I did the video with.   Again I just love this stamp set it is just so wonderful and nostalgic.   Here’s the link to last week post that started this whole thing, you will also find the video about the color blending and how I put that card together.

Here’s today’s card I know that it’s a little different than last week but it’s really not as hard as it appears.

Tips And Tricks:

The only real trouble with this card is figuring out the measurements.  It’s a standard size card and it’s cut at 4 1/4 by 11.  Instead of the normal scoring at 5 1/2 you have to score at 2 3/4 and flip it around and score again at 2 3/4.   That makes it easier then trying to figure out oh where do I slide this down to get the other end.

Next you have to cut using the framelits.   This can be a little tricky.   You have to cut one side at a time, do one end and then line it up on the other while it is all flat.   Make sure you don’t cut all the way through the card base.  Use your score lines as your guide to where to start.   You will have to do some fussy cutting to get the top part of the card off.   But nothing to hard.

The gate is cut to size from scraps of Crumb cake and Early Espresso.  I layered the crumb cake behind the early espresso piece to add some depth and demission.  I also wanted to give the illusion that the moon light was hitting the fence.   I then layered this on front of the trees that made up the font of the card.   I wanted this to be a gate fold plus a window type card.   The gate acts as the front of the card but you can see through it to the inside which helps create the spooky scene and feel of the Halloween card.   This was why on the other card the trick or treat was added to the front of the card as well.

I know I had a couple people on YouTube mention and wonder why it was there.  It’s a stepped down version of this card and I tied into the all you needed was stamps ink and paper to recreate that card.   I am preparing for a catalog launch this Saturday and most of my cards have different versions to show customers what you can do with just these three items.
