Thanks for joining us this month on the Blogging Friends July Blog Hop.  This month we took inspiration from Summer Fun.  I know that a lot of people do different things for Summer Fun, like going to the beach, roller blading, swimming, etc.   In the South that can taken a little differently, I remember as a kid that every summer we would go out and buy fresh fruits and veggies at the local farmers market.  We would spend hours there looking and Mom and Dad would pick out the best from each vendors tables, until we headed back home to prepare the haul for the week.

So in honor of that childhood memory I decided to do a fun set of cards for this month’s hop.  My cards feature the Fresh Fruit Stamp set on page 149.   So lets have a look at my cards shall we.

I am planning on using this for a class coming up July 15th.   I also CASED the fun little fruit case that’s on the adjoining page.   You can find out how to recreate the fruit crate in the video at the bottom of this post.   But that’s at the end so lets have a little look at the cards I created to go inside this box.

These are the four designs they will be making for the class, and the card that’s not pictured as well as the Fruit Crate will be add on projects for everyone that Prepay for the class.  When I saw this little box used as a gift bag holder in the new catalog I had to figure out how to recreate it.   It is really supper easy.   I know you will love making it, as much as I have loved recreating it for you.

I first tried to do a punch out circle on the dollies but that just don’t look right to me so I have gone with just a simple square instead.

Supplies Needed:

  • 3 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock & 6 3/4″ x 5″ pieces of Kraft cardstock
  • Tear & Tape Adhesive
  • Hardwood background stamp
  • Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad
  • Fresh Fruit DSP 3×3 square
  • delicate white dollies
  • Simply Score scoreboard
  • Word Window Punch (retired)

You are going to score your box in portrait mode first at 1/4″ & 3″.  Next placed in Landscape mode and score at 3″ & 8″.   You can follow the rest of the instructions from the video below.

That’s my project for this month’s blog hope I hope that you give it a try and I would love to see the one that you create.  Send me an email with your picture of today’s project and You never know you may see it soon in a gallery on my blog.

I hope that you give this card a try if you find yourself in a pinch.   You could easily change it up to meet any occasion.  Thanks for dropping by and I will see you tomorrow.   Remember, if you need any of the supplies for this cards or project you can pick them up 24/7 from my online store.

Make sure you continue on the blog hop I know that all the designers have some great projects for you to see.
