Today’s project is a little different.   Inside of doing a card I am going to show you how to create your own Stamp Press/positioning tool that works like some on the market today.  I am a little frugal with it comes to money and I wanted a stamp press but didn’t want to pay the price for one.  Yes, I know the old additive you get what you pay for.   But, I thought what can I do with what I have that will work just as well until I can see if it will be useful to me to pay what they cost.

So I did a few YouTube searches and found something that would work for me for now.   And I used what we carried in the catalog as my main tool.

Here’s my stamp press.

I used one of our Clear mount cases as my tool.  I know right, who would have thought that we had something right in the catalog that would work!  I had to go to a box store and grab some of the other things needed.   I had most of it but the fun foam.

Supplies Needed:

  • clear mount stamp case
  • a magnetic sheet
  • fun foam
  • scissors
  • ruller

So what you are going to do is measure the inside of your case.   It was 5 x 7ish.   you are going to cut two to three layers of fun foam so that it fits inside the case.  Next cut the magnetic sheet the same size.  I picked mine up at Lowes.   It is a vent cover, I just cut to size.   Place it on top of the fun foam.   Next you can add a piece of the  grid paper cut to size if you want I opted not to do this.  I forgot to pick up then washers while I was at Lowes so I used some washi tape to hold my cardstock in position and went to stamping.   It works with both the clear mount and photopolymer stamps.   You can find the video of me walking you through the process here.   You can watch my Offset Stamping video to see how it works.

I hope that you give this a try, and it makes your life a little easier.   Thanks for dropping by and I will see you tomorrow.   Remember, if you need any of the supplies for this card you can pick them up 24/7 from my online store.

Thanks for dropping by today.
