Today’s card is a little different than what I normally do. I make a penny spinner card, it wasn’t as hard as I thought they would be. I was very surprised at how easy it was. I did learn some things not to do for the next card. But, that’s for latter let me show you may card again.
I used a piece of tip top taupe as my card base cut at the standard size. You know 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Next I cut a piece of Watermelon Wonder to 5 1/4 x 4 and ran that through the Big Shot using the Polka Dots Texture Impression Embossing Folder. I mean come on who doesn’t think Polka Dots are happy! Next i used my word window punch and pushed the cardstock in as far as possible and punched three times. I started in the center then moved over to where the punch lined up with the edge of the cardstock and punched again, I also did this on the other side. This made my slot for my spinner. Next I lined up the dimensionals along the corners and about 1/2 down and above from the slot. Next I added my penny to that just by lining it up and adding another dimensional centered on top of the penny, this will allow a little weight and hold the outside item in. Next I added another penny to that dimensional. I stamped and punched out my focal image using the cake from the stamp set. I punched it out using a 2″ circle. Next I used the 2 3/8″ scalloped circle punch and punched out a crushed curry scallop circle to layer behind. I attached that to the dimensional with the two pennies. Attached the card front to the base and bam It was done.
To finish off the card I stamped the inside using some of the Cherry On top DSP Stack and some watermelon wonder cardstock and a happy birthday stamped on the last layer. I did everything at an angle to create more interest on the inside.
I hope that you give this card a try if you find yourself in a pinch. You could easily change it up to meet any occasion. Thanks for dropping by and I will see you tomorrow. Remember, if you need any of the supplies for this card you can pick them up 24/7 from my online store.
