Today’s card is all about how to use up some of that washi tape that’s just sitting on your shelf.   If you are like I am I love washi tape but sometimes I am just not sure how to use it.  This card is a great way to put that unused washi tape to a good use, and the best part is it uses some of it up as well.

  • Card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Whisper white 5 1/4 x 4
  • Designer series paper cut the same size as the whisper white.
  • Some washi tape
  • scrap whisper white
  • 1/8 hand held circle punch
  • bakers twine

This is a fun and easy technique, when I saw it I was like really!   OMG that is so easy.   So this is how it works you want to take a nice piece of scrap really doesn’t matter the color just remember that washi tape is thin and the under layers show through.   I picked some whisper white that I had sitting around.   Next you’re going to start layering your washi down the strip.  Yes that’s all, you could cover it with matte medium if you wanted but I don’t see the need in it.  Next you are going to cut the strips on the stampin’ trimmer.  I just cut them where the washi tape started and ended.  This made about 1 to 1 1/2″ strips.  I then flagged the ends.  I used my paper snips but you could use the triple banner punch if you wanted.     Next you are going to punch a hole in the top of each banner you just made.  This will allow you to run the bakers twine through.

Now the tricky part.   You need to cut your designer series paper in half.  You are going to do this using the Stampin’ trimmer.   Take a ruler and make one inch down from the top.  Now make one inch from the bottom on the opposite side from were you marked.   Line both these marks in the trimmer and cut on the diagonal.  Attach one of these to the front panel.  Arrange your banners that’s on the baker’s twine and attach down.  I used scotch tape to adhere the baker’s twine to the back of the panel and mini glue dots under the banners.   Attach this to the card front and bam!   You have your card made.
