Today I am sharing my card for the Global Design Project’s card challenge #032.  Which is a case the designer challenge.   This week the designer they are casing is Krista Frattin!  Krista is currently on the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team.  And here is the card that everyone that is taking part in the challenge is casing.  (CASE-ing means either Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit).

I loved the colors she used in her card.  It had just the right amount of everything.  So here is my version.

Happy Mothers Day Card

I loved the colors she used and the paper but I wanted to do something just a little different then just use the same paper or even use my Aqua Painter to make the same lines.   So I pulled out the extra stamp set from this months Paper Pumpkin and went to work.    I started out with Watermelon Wonder Ink and stamped it full strength.  I inked up the stamp again and reversed it and stamped the continuation.  Next I inked up and stamped of and stamped leaving just enough space to create a strip.   I continued stamping in an ombre effect.    I used Watermelon Wonder and Pink Pirouette inks to achieve the desired effect still maintaining my striped patterned.  Next I stamped the Sentiment using both colors and punched them out using a decorative label punch.   I cut the Mother off with my paper snips and made a banner to cover up the watermelon wonder on.   I next cut out some flowers and ferns using the Botanical Builders Framelits in matching colors.   I added some Mint Macaron for the ferns just to keep to the Krista’s color scheme.   To finish everything off I added some gold thread behind the sentiment and popped it up on Dimensionals.   I added three Watermelon Wonder Sequins from the February Paper Pumpkin and the card front was finished.

To finish off the card I mounted it on some Pink Pirouette card stock cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 just to have a little more of the Pink Pirouette showing.   I placed it on a standard size card base cut at 4 1/4 by 11 scored at 5 1/2″.   I think my mother will love this when she gets it in the mail in a few days.   What do you all think?

Make sure you head over to The Global Design Project see all the great cards created by the design team and everyone that has taken part.

Until tomorrow Happy Stampin’
