Today’s card is a graduation pop up card.   With graduation just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about creating those special cards for your grads!   You know they are hard to buy cards for and who whats to get the same card from everyone?  Make the Grads special day even more so with a hand made card.

I created this card with this month’s exclusive Paper Pumpkin stamp set that came in the March kit.  The stamp set had this great Graduation cap in the stamp set as well as the Hooray Grad! sentiment.  What you haven’t heard of Paper Pumpkin?   Well let me just tell you this is one of the highlights to my month.   Each and every month!   hip hip hooray graduation card close up

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit offered by Stampin’ Up!.  Each month you get a new and different project along with a stampin ink spot(in a new color each month), and an exclusive stamp set.   One month it may be cards, the next a banner and gift bags, and even a home decor project.   We never know what we are getting until it comes in.   It’s a surprise in the mail box every month.

The kits like I said is a subscription based kit.   We have a monthly plan for $19.95 plus tax which includes shipping.   To save some green you can pick from either our three month plan, six month plan or the best saving 12 month plan.   You can skip a month if you choose or even add additional kits each month.   Each project and stamp set is exclusive to Paper Pumpkin subscribers; meaning you can not get the stamps or project supplies any where on the Stampin’ Up! website or catalog.   Sweet!    Today is the last day of the Paper Pumpkin 3 month Sale-A-Bration Sale.  You can get the 3 month subscription for $55 until 11:59 pm tonight!   So if you want to jump on this saving click here!

With this special you can pick one free Sale-A-Bration item so hurry up time is drawing to a close.

I wanted to keep the focus of the outside of the card on the card so I kept it simple.  With the main stamping and decoration on the top 2/3 of the card.   I stamped the graduation caps in Hello Honey and Basic Black (which closest resembled by high school colors Go Wildcats!)   I added the confetti from the left overs from the pop up(I know we are getting there don’t rush it).   I added a thin strip of basic back to draw a visual weight point to the card as well as it acts like an anchor for the sentiment.   Which was stamped in Hello Honey and I added a black graduation cap to tie in the colors.  To add a little bling I added some sequins.  I added a scalloped circle to help tie in a little black on the sentiment.

Now I will show you the inside of the card I know this is what you are dying to see any way!

I added a black layer to the inside to make the hello honey layer pop out besides the fact that it is a pop up card.   I wanted it to have a little unexpected touch so adding the second panel was the answer as well as adding the extra letters from the punch out to add to the excitement of the occasion.  I also used a few more sequins on the inside to match the out side.   The pop up is created with the new Party Pop Up Thinlits Dies from the 2016 Occasion Catalog.

These dies have been one of my favorites this year.  I love that I can add a little unexpected to the inside of my cards.  And they are super easy to use.   You just have to fold the insert in half and line the die up on your fold and fun through the big shot.   The die has two arrows at the top of each that you use to line them up.   It couldn’t be any easier.

You will be able to find all the products I used to create this card in the Product list at the end of the post.   Remember that the Paper Pumpkin sale ends at 11:59 MOUNTAIN time tonight.

I hope that you give this card a try if you find yourself in a pinch.   You could easily change it up to meet any occasion.  Thanks for dropping by and I will see you tomorrow.   Remember, if you need any of the supplies for this card you can pick them up 24/7 from my online store.

Thanks for dropping by today.
