Today’s card is for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge designed by the talented Mary Fish. It’s a beautiful combination of Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, and Pool Party. Which when I first saw this color combo I was like what in the world am I going to do to make this combo. Typically colors I wouldn’t put together, so I had to think on it for a couple days. I try not to look at the examples done by the design team until after I have created mine. That way I am not influenced by their designs. Here’s the color combo for this weeks challenge.
After much thought here’s my card.
After I finally designed on the stamp sets I was going to use, everything else came pretty easy. I have been working with this bundle a lot since we just finished a retreat last weekend and this was the stamp set we used. So I had designed a lot of cards using it. I added the small dots from the Timeless Texture stamp set to add just a little more interest to the front panel. After I die cut all the leaves and flower parts I sponged the coordinating colors around each piece. You can see how the sponging added the much needed values each piece. (pictured below)
I thought the flower DSP for the 2015-2017 In-color paper stack would work wonderfully with this combo. To finish the card off I added a large Stampin’ Rhinestone to the center of the flower and stamped the sentiment to the card using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink (I am really going to miss this color when it is gone).
I hope you like my card, leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Make sure you pop over to the Pals Paper Arts website and see all the FABULOUS cards that they have all created using this color combo.
