Today’s project is CASED from UK Demonstrator Lea Denton’s project she posted on February 9, 2016. This type of project is very different for me, but I saw it and I had to do one also. Everything just kind of worked out. I had a frame that I had painted a few years ago, well a couple months ago while moving things around in the studio I knocked the frame off and broke the glass so it’s been sitting around waiting for a new life. Enter Lea’s project.
This was such a fun project to CASE. I used Blushing bride, daffodil delight, Whisper White, and the Botanical Gardens Vellum stack, along with the Botanical Builder framelets. And, yes it was a lot of cutting but it was well worth it. I had a blast sitting down and putting everything together. Lea suggested sponging everything so I really only did the big flowers and the leaves, I was a little tired after all that cutting.
The project was very easy to put together, I placed my vellum in front of some Basic Gray cardstock cut to 5×7 and cut down one of the cardboard inserts from one of my paper pumpkin kits the same size and placed behind everything.
To attach everything I used two strips of Tear & Tape along the top and side. I also added some things with Glue Dots just to attach certain flowers or leaves down where they were moving a little to much for my liking.
I stamped the Just For You on the Vellum in Stazon White and then added embossing powder and heat set it. After everything was attached I added the rhinestones, pearls, and enamel dots to the flowers. I actually took quite a number of the leaves and flowers out of the picture plane to let it bleed over on the frame a little more.
Again this a fun project and was very different for me but I think it turned out okay. What do you think?
See you next time. Remember Sale-A-Bration is coming to a close so if you would like the Botanical Garden Vellum Stack or the Botanicals for you stamp set you can get them for free until the end of the month with a $50 order from my online store.
