Today’s card is for two different challenges Can You Case It #110 & the Paper Players #285. Here are the challenge sketch and themes.
I think that both of these are fun challenges and if you love a challenge or if you need to spark your creative juices you should give it a try. I have found that challenges help me to get going when I m in a slump. When I saw these I knew that I could do something to go in both.
I have been hoarding the Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper for just the right project. And when I saw the Rain or Shine Theme I knew what to go grab! I Love this paper it has a shinny metallic side and a plain colored side. And, by the way it is very very thick!
I just loved this paper in the Occasions catalog and it was a must have for me! But, I have hoarded it instead of using it. Some of the reason was I was trying to show the Sale-A-Bration products more (That’s my story and I am sticking to it!) I used a small cloud from one of the designs and fussy cut it out to go over my sun from the Hello Sale-A-Bration stamp set. My background paper is the raindrop pattern from the Specialty paper (PSSS I am hoping that it will make it into the upcoming Annual Catalog, but that’s just between us friends.) The background is cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″ to fit on my standard A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) card base. I also used the new Sale-A-Bration Party Pants Stamp Set and fussy cut the balloons out. I stamped them first second and third generation to get the different values, using temping turquoise to match my card base.
Next I punched out a 2 1/2″ circle and sponge some tempting turquoise around the edges. I added everything to the card front and added my banners. The celebrate today sentiment comes from the Enjoy the Little things stamp set. That finshes off my card for today I hope that you give it a try and pop over to Can You Case It? and The Paper Players websites and check out all the great cards being created for these two challenges. You never know you may get inspired to play along! It’s never to late to jump in!.
