Today’s card is for the Global Design Project’s sketch challenge Gdp#026. Here’s my card!
I wanted to do something with the Botanical Gardens Vellum Stack from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure, but I wanted to do something different. So I thought why not use it in a way that’s different. So I created my card front using it. I used a piece of whisper white and the botanical builder framelets and here we go.
Here’s the sketch for this weeks challenge.
I picked a different color combination than most would I knew I wanted to use blushing bride for the flower; not that I had a ton of scraps in blushing bride after making my swap cards for the retreat or anything (wink wink)! But what to put with it. Whisper white goes with everything so that was a must. But it needed something. Something unexpected, since Blushing Bride is a warm pink I thought why not use some Hello Honey for the base to add to the warm fell. I paired that with mossy meadow for the fern fronds and we were cooking with gas.
The hardest part was figuring the size of everything so I cut the vellum down from the six by six size to 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 and then cut that in half. Next I did the same thing with my whisper white piece ran it through the big shot with the edgelets. I did this three times so that I would have an inside piece to stamp on and one to cover the adhesive on the vellum. That way there was no unsightly glue when you opened the card.
To add a little bit more to the card I used some basic pearls on the stamen. This allowed me to use some on the really small ones that are so hard to find something to use them for.
Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you give this card a try. Make sure you pop over to the Global Design Project and check out all the great cards they are doing!
