This is my second card for today. This time my card is for the Pals Paper Arts Card Challenge PPA284. This weeks Challenge is a sketch challenge, here is the sketch that inspired my card.
When I started trying to come up with ideas for this sketch challenge, I immediately thought of the new It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack. I knew I wanted to use something bright and cheerful. So I thumbed through all the great designs and found this great stripe. I also knew I wanted the color that I used not to over power but to be the center of attention. So the question than became what to pair it with. So what colors match everything? Duh!! Basic Black and Whisper White. So with the color themed picked the fun could begin.
The wonderful sketch made it easy to put this card together. But when I laid everything out the card just wasn’t doing it for me. (yes I do a dry arrangement of every card before I attach everything this makes it easier for me.) So at this point I knew my Whisper White piece needed something. I knew I didn’t want to add anymore color to it so dry embossing was the answer. Since I wanted to use the new Suite Sayings stamp set to make a birthday card. I opted for the new Confetti Texture Impression Embossing Folder.
Which actually worked great with the sketch design because it had the large oval that worked with the circles I punched out to use. And it added some great texture to my card.
You can see in the close up what I am talking about. I used the three stars from the itty bitty punch pack to day attention to the sentiment and to draw your eye to both the white and the striped panels.
I encourage you to head over to the Pals Paper Arts website and check out all the great cards designed using the sketch for #PPA284.
