I hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas.
I know that some of us haven’t sent out our Christmas cards yet, and yes its a little late for Merry Christmas but you still have time to get the Happy Holidays out. So here is a great card for you…
I thought this was a beautiful stamp since day one but I had the hardest time trying to use it. I kept wanting to do to much with it. I tried watercolor resist, plain watercolors, markers, and nothing seemed to look right to me. So I decided to keep it simple.
I mean what could be more beautiful with this fabulous stamp, then just a simple black white and gold color scheme. So my New Year Card is just simple ink and paper. I did add a little wink of Stella from the new Occasions Catalog coming out January 5th, but that was it. This card didn’t need all the extra work I was putting into it.
Tips and Tricks:
When in doubt KISS (Keep it Super Simple )! Yes I know there are other words that fit this statement. LOL! But, I used a simple Basic Black card base cut at 5 1/2 x 11 scored at 4 1/4. Next I had some gold & white patterned paper that I had picked up before becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, so I decided to use it. So It was cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and my stamp layer is just Whisper White cut at 3 3/4 x 5. Again KISS! Sometimes that is all your card needs.
I did add the new Whink of Stella clear glitter pen to places.
You do have to be careful with it. If you have just opened it the glitter is very heavy don’t go straight to you card like I did. Silly me wasn’t thinking about the amount of glitter that would come out.
Make sure you are on the look out for the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs that should be arriving in your mail boxes soon. For that don’t know what Sale-a-bration is it is fantastic! You get to pick exclusive items from the brochure for every $50 you spend during the sales period. Wow ! how wonderful is that. IF you do not have a demo and would like a catalog you can contact me, and I can send one out to you. I would appreciate your business.
That’s it for today’s card have a safe and Happy New Year!
